My future couples,

There is one thing we do with every couple coming to my studio even before our first lesson: Listening to music. Because wedding dance consists not only of steps; it is the emotion you feel when that song plays. 10 years later, when you hear that song on the radio, that moment should come before your eyes.

For the 2026 wedding season, I prepared a special list for both those who can't give up classics and those who say "let it be different".

Here are Teacher Gamze's favorite first dance music! 🎶

1. For Tango Lovers (Noble and Passionate) 🌹

If you chose tango for wedding dance, these tracks change the atmosphere instantly:

  • Por Una Cabeza (Carlos Gardel): King of classics. Immortalized by the movie Scent of a Woman. Very popular but never gets old.
  • El Dia Que Me Quieras: Peak of romance. A slower, fluent, and very emotional tango.
  • Santa Maria (Gotan Project): Modern and cool. For those wanting a slightly more electronic, rhythmic, and young vibe.
  • Ezel Tango (Toygar Işıklı): A touch from us. The legendary music of Turkish series, great for a dramatic entrance.

2. For Waltz Lovers (Fairytale and Elegant) 👑

If your wedding dress is flowy and you want to feel like princesses:

  • Second Waltz (Shostakovich): Magnificent. If you are getting married in a large, magnificent hall, this is the only music to fill that hall.
  • Gramofon (Eugen Doga): Sad and elegant. A very naive, very fragile beginning.
  • La Valse d'Amelie (Yann Tiersen): French dream. A more cheerful, lively, and extraordinary waltz.

3. Modern and Romantic (Slow Dance) ❤️

For those saying "We don't want tango or waltz, but something where we hug and sway but do beautiful turns in between":

  • Perfect (Ed Sheeran): It has become a wedding anthem now, but the lyrics are so beautiful...
  • A Thousand Years (Christina Perri): Twilight legend. Emotional intensity is very high.
  • Beni Çok Sev (Tarkan): If you want it to be Turkish and everyone to sing along, it is still at the top in 2026.
  • Pervane (Özdemir Erdoğan - New Interpretations): Nostalgic but fresh.

What Should You Pay Attention to When Choosing Music?

  1. Duration: Ideal dance duration is 2.5 - 3 minutes. If your song is 5 minutes, guests might get bored. We cut and arrange (edit) the song for you in our lessons.
  2. Rhythm: "A song we love very much" may not always be "a danceable song". Its rhythm should be holdable. You can consult me for this.
  3. Lyrics: If you are choosing a foreign song, definitely check the lyrics. The music might be great but it might be describing breakup pain, not suitable for a wedding! 😅

We Make Choreography According to Song

You choose your song, leave the rest to me. We will design movements ("musicality") suitable for the enthusiasm in the intro of the song, the emphasis in the chorus together.

Undecided?

No problem at all. In the free preliminary meeting we hold in my Istanbul or Silivri studio, I let you listen to examples from different styles. The moment your eyes sparkle is the moment we say "Hah, here is our song!".
